OUR MISSION

The solar industry is broken!

After 15 years in the industry, we understand exactly what homeowners want: an honest, seamless, and straightforward process to getting solar panels installed;  without pressure, confusion, or endless sales calls.

That’s why VSD Solar was created as a one-stop place for independent solar advice. We give homeowners everything they need in one place: clear explanations, unbiased recommendations, and help choosing the right installer. Without having to speak to five different companies telling five different stories. No sales tactics. No brand pushing.

We provide designs that guarantee your system actually delivers the return you were promised.

The Golden Rule of Solar

Never let the salesperson be your sole advisor when it comes to your solar system.

ABOUT OUR MISSION

The Most Common Solar Mistakes we see Homeowners Make

These mistakes don’t look obvious at first, but they’re the reason so many homeowners regret their solar decision later

Confusing Quotes

Solar quotes often look detailed but hide key differences in warranties, after care, and equipment quality. Homeowners end up accepting a quote they don’t fully understand.

Oversized system

Some installers recommend larger systems or premium equipment that isn’t required for your home’s actual energy needs. Bigger systems mean bigger commissions for them.

sales pressure and discounts

Beware of sales people who rush you to make a decision. When homeowners feel rushed, they stop asking important questions. That’s exactly when mistakes happen.

choosing the wrong installer

Beware of rogue installers. They’ll perform poor and often dangerous installation. Then abandon you in case of any issues. You need an installer with a good reputation.

Theses mistakes are avoidable, if you have Impartial Expert advice

WHY CHOOSE US

We Start With Education

“No technical jargon. We explain solar in plain English so you can actually make a smart decision.”

No pressure

“You decide when or if  you move forward”

Deal with one company

“Save yourself hours of research and having multiple random sales people in your home. Deal with us from start to finish”

Know what you are buying

Most homeowners are sold equipment before it’s explained.
We believe you should understand it first.

solar Panels

Solar panels capture sunlight using photovoltaic cells and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. They are the primary energy generation source for your home.

The Battery

This unit stores excess energy produced during the day so you can use it at night or during power outages. It maximizes your energy independence and reduces reliance on the grid.

The Inverter

The inverter acts as the “brain” of the system. It converts the DC electricity generated by the panels into alternating current (AC) electricity, which is the standard form used by your home appliances.

Meter + Grid

The meter tracks how much electricity you draw from the utility grid and how much surplus solar energy you export back to it. This connection ensures you always have power when solar production is low.

Our Independence is Your Advantage

Because we’re independent , our only allegiance is to you. Here’s how our step-by-step process works.

1.

Intro Call

We have a relaxed, no-pressure call to understand your home, roof, energy usage, and what you want to achieve with solar. This helps us design a system that fits your goals.

2.

System Design

We design a solar system specifically for your property. We’ll also find out exactly how much energy you will be able to produce. We’ll examine shading and suitability of your and home layout.

3.

Review

We walk you through your designs in details. Every component is explained, including expected performance and any limitations, so there are no surprises later. we’ll then present you installer options and help you pick the right one.

4.

Installation

Once you’ve selected an installer, we hand over the full system design and specifications. Your system is typically installed within 2–4 weeks, with us available throughout for guidance and aftercare.

We were about to go with the smallest inverter option. After advice, we upsized and future-proofed for battery and EV.

Jeff Client

Our installer quote looked fine until the team at VSD solar showed us it wouldn’t support our future heat pump. We redesigned everything and were matched with a different installer. Forever grateful.

Amora Client

We had spent month looking into solar, had 3 different companies give us a quote but did not feel confident in any of them. After speaking to the VSD team, we realised we had been misled on so many levels. Everything was clearly explained and we got matched with an amazing local company

Brandon Client

Almost went with a cheaper quote. The meeting with Valdes made me understand the system would not save me money the way it was designed. He made adjustments and linked me with a great installer. Completely satisfied

Yes. Independent advice helps ensure your system is designed around your home and energy needs, not around what a single installer sells. We act like your mortgage broker who helped you when purchasing your home.

A good quote is based on proper system sizing, quality components, warranties, and long-term performance, not just the cheapest upfront price.

Not always. Some homes benefit immediately, while others are better off being battery-ready and adding one later.

Picking the wrong installer, undersizing the system, choosing the wrong inverter, and selecting installers based purely on price.

Solar can significantly reduce bills, but zero bill promises are often unrealistic without careful system design and lifestyle alignment. Nonetheless, it is possible in some rare circumstances.
